We had no idea that there were so many family friendly things to do in
Rapid City! Carolyn had so much options for us - it was so cool! We
started our day at The Dinosaur Park. The kids loved this - there were
stone dinosaurs high on this hill overlooking Rapid City. The view was
awesome and the dinosaurs were huge. I guess they were representing all
the dinosaurs that used to exist in Rapid City. From here we could see
everything - I think it would be a great place to visit at night again
to see the lights of the city! The kids enjoyed the climbing but it was
warm up there! :) Next stop Storybook Land.

Storybook Land
This was another great place in Rapid City - mostly because it was totally FREE! Again the kids could run and play and enjoy lots of fun things - like parate ships, train, cars and visit with the princesses. My favorite part was the free book exchange at the front - was wishing I had a book to exchange! It is a city park so it is free and it is really fun - kind of hard to explain really! It has structures like the pirate ship and Old Mother Hubbard's shoe, and stone characters of Ariel & the Wizard of Oz characters, tree houses for Winnie the Pooh, and girls dressed as princess to take pictures with the kids!

Chapel in the Hills - so beautiful!
After lunch we headed up the "Chapel in the Hills". It is this Norwegian chapel built in 1960 - it is an exact replica of thee famous Borgund stavkirke, of Laerdal, Norway. The architecture was really cool - my favorite was the windows around the outside. It was very small but a hot spot for pictures in Rapid City. While we were here we heard Aaron was off work - yeah!

Downtown Rapid City - the kids even were on TV!
We ran by the house and grabbed him and headed to their favorite ice cream spot - Armadillo's. Marin and Maxwell were sure we would be eating armadillos - but no just yummy ice cream. We ended up downtown at a splash pad in the middle of town - so refreshing. While we were there the local tv station asked the kids to be on tv - of course they would love to! Camryn even got to ask a question - pretty funny!
We rounded out the night with a trip to Outback Steakhouse compliments of some Christmas gift cards we still had - nothing like feeding 11 people completely free! It was a great visit and so relaxing - our kids had a blast just playing and hanging out! It was too quick for sure!
