Our last stop in South Dakota was the fabulous Mitchell Corn Palace - we had mentioned this in our planning of the trip and the kids had gotten really intrigued by it! When we finally got there I am happy to report they really thought it was so cool! So funny what they love! It is this huge recreation center that it is decorated every year with corn & wheat - it has these amazing designs that are really cool!
We made that last stop and then just kept going and going! We rolled into Toledo on Wednesday, July 31. The craziest thing was the huge ceramic bison we saw just off the turnpike in TOLEDO - it was crazy funny to see that here! We might have all been a little tired and off our rocker but it was so funny to see that here after seeing it everywhere we traveled! Also after we pulled off the turnpike, we heard the cry of a potty break and we all begged to make it home but NOPE!
All I could think of was what a wonderful trip and how many different BATHROOMS did we use!!! Next time we forget about counting states - we count bathroom stops! :)
So three weeks later, almost 5200 miles in the car, many great visits with friends and family, and 12 states later - WE ARE HOME!
We are already planning our next trip!!
