Hiking the Empire Bluff Trail

We woke up and it was SO foggy and it kept spitting rain!! I think Marin and Hattie even slept in with the calming sound of the rain on the tent all night! We got hurried through getting ready so we get out and see some of the scenery! We made our first stop on the Empire Bluff Trail. At this point it was sticking spitting rain a bit but it was a perfect cool morning for hiking. We ventured up the 1.5 mile hike and stopped at each numbered spot to learn about the area - that is the funny part about having a big reader, she reads all the flyers and points out all the things along the trail. Marin is picking that up fast and would often want to know what we were suppose to read at each numbered stop. We made it to the top no problem - it would have been an amazing view if the fog was not super thick! It was still pretty and Morgan took some cute pictures of the girls from there!

After the hike we headed on to drive the Pierce Stocking Scenic tour - the kids could not wait to hike the sand dunes!!
