We are moving!!

Life has been busy and full of blessings here in Ohio.  Since my last post about putting our house for sale - we have sold and purchased another home in the heart of Toledo!  The for sale sign went in the ground on the 21st (ground was frozen so more liked held up by snow) and when the snow melted, the sign came down!  We never even got it back up!!

It has been a whirlwind of blessings from our Heavenly Father. We have been humbled and overwhelmed by the many times we have felt his love and support!

We listed our home on February 7th.  A little over two weeks later (26th) we had one showing, one week later they offered and we accepted their offer on March 10th!  It has been a record winter - coldest and snowiest winter on record.  We had one showing and that was it!!  It was wonderful and crazy at the same time.  At this point, I really felt like a maniac - trying to keep the house clean at all times, watching our emails in hopes that someone would be looking for our house, etc.  As a family, we prayed that a "nice family" would find our home - they did!!

Now our house hunt really kicked into gear - Morgan and I found one we liked the next week and offered on that one.  The family moving out just listed two days before we found it!  As we met this family that weekend, we again realized how the Lord was not only helping us but guiding this kind family in their job relocation and move.  They needed to move right away and we were ready to move in!  They are the kindest and more generous people - they invited us over, loved the kids, and even had the kids make smores in the wood burning stove.  They are so kind - we are so grateful to them!

We have said it over and over but we know that our Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers and is well aware of our desires.  

One of the biggest blessings of this process has been the way our children have rolled with the flow - with the basement packed:  open fun for dart gun fights & dance parties, now all the boxes are there: a family fort with an M&M club.  They have taken this time with less toys and found ways to play together.  I am so grateful for them and the way they each contribute to these hours of fun.  Last night I realized we have hardly had the TV on in all these weeks - we love our movie nights but during the time they are together it has been dance parties, club meetings, dart gun fights, lego building, and now playing outside!

As stressful as this process has been (the paperwork!!) it has been very smooth - everyday I go between feeling crazy and blessed - depending on the day you talk to me!  We are all anxious to be out of this nutso packed state - when we can't find something we just assume it is packed!

So this week is the "week of crazy" - house is mostly packed up, kids are on spring break (yeah!), we are closing on both houses, checking out Hattie's new school, and moving into our new house!  We will play the beginning part of the week (biking, roller skating, easter egg hunt, trip to the zoo) and then move Friday & Saturday.  I am so glad to have the kids home from school this week!  They are very excited! I am hoping I can pull together a simple Easter for them this weekend!

Since we are so close to the end of the school year, the kids will finish the school year out at their current school and I will finish up PTO and Girl Scouts at Larchmont.  May is such a crazy month for the school that I am so grateful  to be moving before then - even though it means we will have to do more driving back and forth.

Some fun details of our new house.  We are only moving about ten miles away!  We are a couple blocks away from our favorite bike trails (we started our biking adventures this week), closer to church & in our same ward, new schools for next fall, a little farther from our YMCA, just as close to Morgan's work, and much closer to Costco :).

Here are some pictures of the house (not our fabulous furniture).  We love the wood floors throughout the house, the sunroom with wood burning stove (smores all year long!), the open floor plan, tons of windows, patio, 4 bedrooms, finished basement, and the kids are wild about the laundry shute!  Who would have known that would have been their favorite thing about the house!
