(Sorry this is a long post - I did the whole visit in one post!)
This month we had a special visitor: Grandpa Neal flew in the enjoy falltime with us! We started our mini-holiday with Grandpa with a trip to Pizza Papalis for some yummy pizza and calzones! Grandpa Neal was here just in time for all the fall festivities!
Saturday the 26th was filled with two chilly games of soccer and that evening we got to carve our pumpkins - all of which came out of our garden this year! Such a great year for pumpkins!
On the 28th, we wrangled 13 Daisy girl scouts, Maxwell, Manhattan, Grandpa, and 4 moms off to our favorite pumpkin patch - Gust Farm (yep, visit #3 for us this year!)
On Wednesday, the 30th was our Trunk or Treat. Grandpa got into the costume action too! We had Superman, Supergirl, Captain America, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern watching over our little part of the world!
Look I found Robin at the party too!
Halloween afternoon was filled with "INSIDE" parades since the weather was rainy!! Blah! It was great to see Maxwell & Felicity at their parade at Fairgreen Preschool and Marin & Nathan during their parade at Larchmont. Manhattan is in 6th grade which does not get to parade anymore - so lame!!
Our next big event would have been Halloween but it was DELAYED - I know how weird is that? We were supposed to have some nasty weather so the Mayor moved Halloween - in the end we didn't even have much weather at all!! Crazy!
So instead some shots from Home Depot Days - which worked great with three adults and three kids! I was so impressed how well all three kids did with their projects - three Mayflowers to decorate our house for Thanksgiving!! Maxwell especially loved going so we will need to do it again!
Halloween finally arrived - 3 days late!! Our friends, the Mosquedas came over and went with us! We took handing out candy and walking the neighborhood with the kids. Grandpa had the long shift at home -notice the blanket he is sitting on - it was nice enough to be outside handing out candy but our bums got cold sitting on the steps! :) The kids got a load of stash that we are still eating a month later!!
On Tuesday, the 5th Our adventures continued with a trip to the Henry Ford Museum. Morgan and Grandpa Neal got to tour the Ford Rouge Plant. It was a fun day for everyone - the kids really enjoyed the adventure! I love these two pictures of us all together!!
We ended our week with a trip to an Indoor Waterpark - it was a lot of fun and yes, Morgan was there! I am so grateful that Morgan always takes pictures of all of us! I especially love when he is in them with us! If you look close to the swirly pictures - those are of Morgan and I and then one of Hattie & I on inner tubes. It was a fun ride and Morgan found a look out so that Maxwell and Marin could see us! It was fun to see them too!
In between all this adventuring - we had school, cookie dough delivery, PTO meetings, many dinners & even some good desserts, hours of work, extra kids, Grandpa being the helper at Maxwell's preschool, some Christmas shopping, Grandpa taking Hattie to her swim meet, Grandpa and I hitting the gym biking & swimming, a x-ray of my toe (yep, it is broken), church, each kid getting to go to lunch with Grandpa, cleaning the church, school musical performances, making squirrel feeders, book fairs, and leaf blowing! It was a busy month and it was so good to have Grandpa with us. He has been gone a week and the kids still ask about him coming back again! Next time we hope Grandma Laura can come to - we are so lucky to have such great family!!
