Manhattan decided that she wanted to do a pinewood derby race for our her Activity Days group at church. She started planning it back in March after we attended a friend's Pinewood Derby for Scouts. We bought cars for all of her group, she made invitation, bought decorations, made awards & certificates (actually I found those on E
tsy - well worth the $10), decided on games & activities for the younger brothers & sisters, helped work on the track, asked a friend to bake cupcakes, and then set the whole thing up. It took a lot of effort and in the end was AWESOME! She had a great time and so did the girls in her group. 
Hattie and Morgan made her car one morning - she was very specific about wanting a jaquar car - they used duct tape (my idea :) and pipe cleaners (Hattie's idea) and it turned out awesome! She didn't win the race (we should have weighted it) but she had a great time with all of her friends!
