The Magic Meerkat

I LOVE my Zoo!

This morning we dropped by the school and picked up Manhattan's grade card and we were off!  With packed lunches and my kids in tow (plus one) we headed to one our favorite places - the Toledo Zoo!  A new exhibit opened this last month and we were finally able to go see the elephants and new camels!  I had a feeling that the stream in the Nature's Neighborhood would be open - best place to be on a warm day!

We wandered through the tigers, bears, snow leopards, and finally the elephants!  Yeah - we also saw the rhinos and hippos (it has been closed for awhile now!), last stop was the meerkats and they were out to play - as many times as I tried to get a shot of this one - it just glowed with the sunlight.  The girls just referred to him as "The Magical Meerkat".  It was pretty funny - they loved it!

Yeah - the stream is open - everytime we come to the zoo we check to see if it is open - it is really not a big deal but it is a perfect excuse to be wet at the zoo.  They can move rocks and sticks around to dam up the stream - build stick houses or just splash around - love it!!!

All our dreams came true - the animals were out playing, the stream was open, and all faces were painted!  Thanks to Hattie & Lauren - Marin & Maxwell were so happy with their funny faces!!

It made for a great day at the zoo!!  So grateful to have this awesome zoo close by!!
